ARTFUL

“she never looked nice. she looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”

- Rainbow Rowell

I am proud to say that I contributed to this artwork of Starbucks cups. Today's post features Ms. Kay Why - one of the most artistic people I know who continues to inspire me. This girl’s got style. I have more of a simple, classic, everyday-wear kind of style, but this girl can rock anything, from preppy to trendy to chic. She’s starting her very own blog soon so stay tuned.

FIELD OF FLORAL

COACHELLA INSPIRED Part 1:
This year is going be my first time attending the ever-so-popular and ever-so-expensive Coachella. So naturally, all of my shopping trips have been Coachella inspired. This time, without the boyfriend around to be the photographer, I've taken selfies to a whole new level: self-photo shoots. Think of it as professional selfies. It was actually quite fun and I enjoyed prancing around in the open fields without a bother. I must say though playing both photographer and model was challenging and got tiring towards the end. I realized I enjoyed being the photographer way more than the model. I give props to models because they make it look much easier than it is.

  • Skirt: thrifted from Goodwill similar here and here

A SATTER DAY

A Satter Day: A day where you're free to go wherever you'd like. A day to bask in the sun. A day to explore. It seems like days like these are hard to come by now. As we grow older, it feels like the stuff we have to do is a never-ending list and it just consumes us. So I like to take a break every now and then to drop everything and just go do a few of my favorite things. Things like walking and exploring while easily getting sidetracked by sale and coffee signs. Things like taking deep inhalations of the free smoke-free sea air. And especially things like brunching with big coffee cups. Can't forget about brunch. It's kind of like meditating. On that happy note.. I hope you had a great week. Don't forget to take a satter day.

SHE WOLF

  • Jacket: MaxStudio similar here
  • Top: Express
  • Jeans: rag & bone/JEAN similar here
  • Watch: Movado here
It was a rainy day here in San Diego today and I wanted to tackle it military and wolf style. It hasn't rained much here so I fully intended on enjoying the pitter patter even so much as to bringing my jogging gear to work. But then I chickened out because it got too windy. #fridayfail
